As part of the June 2011 update to the List of Medications, the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS) completed priority reviews of the following generic drugs: Co Valsartan^TM, Ran-Valsartan^TM, Sandoz Valsartan^TM, Teva Valsartan^TM, Sandoz Valsartan HCT^TM and Teva Valsartan/HCTZ^TM.

INESSS also fast-tracked the review of Pradax^TM. INESSS intends to follow up on use of this medication, and also expects to review this drug again within the next two years and develop a guide to promote proper use.

INESSS recommended to the Minister of Health and Social Services that Pradax^TM and the above-mentioned generic drugs be added to the List of Medications, and these changes became effective April 20, 2011.
