Home Hospitalization

Mandate Description
Provide tools and support for the implementation of home hospitalization programs in Quebec. 

This mandate will be implemented in 3 stages:

Stage1 - Portrait of the international home hospitalization experience

Objectives: Develop a portrait of home experience in other countries (e.g. target population, needs, lessons learned, etc.).
How?  · Review of scientific and grey literature.
Process status: Ongoing.

Step 2 - Portrait of home hospitalization in Quebec and needs identification

Objectives: Examine the home hospitalization situation in Quebec and assess whether the methods used abroad can be transposed to the Quebec situation. 
How?  By reviewing the scientific and grey literature. Through consultations/questionnaires.
Process status: Ongoing.

Step 3 - Findings and considerations for implementing home hospitalization in Quebec

Objectives: Based on all the information gathered during the previous steps, a thinking tool will be developed with criteria to be considered for the implementation of home hospitalization pilot projects in Quebec. 
How? The data collected in the previous 2 stages will be examined by the project team. Consultative processes will be used to enrich and validate this thinking tool.  
Process status: Autumn 2024.
